Here are some of my new creations.
Peacock Handbag
Its vivid turquoise and blue colouring evokes water in motion.
This handbag is wet felted in one piece. It has embellishments of bamboo, curly locks and soy silk felted into its surface, giving it lovely sheen and texture and has a wool felted ball button closure.
Ribbons, tiny felt balls and beads adorn one side, making it completely reversible.
Each of these felted creations are lovingly crafted using an ancient technique and luxurious natural fibers.
Wet felting is a process where wool roving is meshed together into a strong fabric, using hot water, soap and lots of elbow grease.
This bag is made in one piece, working two sides, one after the other. Each side contains eight layers of wool roving, making a strong fabric. The top layer is felted with other fibers, such as bamboo for shine, curly locks for springy texture, and soy silk for a delicate shimmer giving depth to the surface.
The layers are massaged and rubbed together over a period of hours until they are inseparable.
I have added found treasures and upcycled materials for handles, straps and decorations, whenever possible.

Purple and Red Lollipop Flowers

Wet felting is a process where wool roving is meshed together into a strong fabric, using hot water, soap and lots of elbow grease.
This felt is made of six layers of wool roving, making a strong fabric.
The layers are massaged and rubbed together over a period of hours until they are inseparable.
The design has been first needle-felted (a process whereby the wool is pierced with barbed needles to felt small design elements onto a base fabric) and then wet-felted into place, giving dimension and texture.
A silk lining was quilted into place.
